A Communications Coordinator is being sought by Population Action International (PAI) a not for profit organization that promotes universal access to family planning and reproductive health services through research, advocacy, and innovative partnerships. Candidates who show an appreciation for PAI’s commitment to strategic collaboration; to linking women’s health with other key development concerns; and to serving the under-served and most vulnerable will have an advantage.
Responsibilities
The Communications Coordinator will provide support to the Communications Department, including managing small outreach and research projects. The Communications Coordinator supports the Director of Communications in tracking departmental expenses and other aspects of the Communications budget. S/he will assist with department scheduling and workflow and is also responsible for responding to internal and external requests for information, tracking media clippings and performing other administrative tasks. The Communications Coordinator may be required to support the Online Outreach Associate in maintaining PAI’s social media properties and website as needed.
The Communications Coordinator plays a key role in departmental monitoring and evaluation. S\he will also work closely with PAI’s Information Resources team to manage PAI’s digital assets (film, photography and other visual resources).
Qualifications:
- Detail oriented, motivated self-starter with ability to work independently
- Organized and efficient worker with a knack for improving basic workflow systems
- Experience tracking expenses/ monitoring budgets required
- Excellent oral and written communications skills, with an ability to write precisely and concisely for internal and external audiences
- Interest in strategic communications and social media is a plus
- A team player with a sense of humor, collaborative spirit, creativity and a commitment to PAI’s mission.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
